Council Meeting – December 6, 2021

The next Council Meeting will be Monday, December 6, 2021 at 6:30pm in the Terrace Bay Community Centre - Activity Room. The public is invited to attend these meetings in person (proof of vaccination required) or online through Zoom. Just click on the Zoom Links below to attend the virtual meeting:
Reminder: All persons entering the Terrace Bay Community Centre are required to provide PROOF OF VACCINATION at the TB Community Centre Office, self screen, wear a mask & hand sanitize before entering the building.

RESIDENTS NOTICE – Township Wide Water Outage/Boil Water Advisory in Effect

A Township Wide Water Outage/Boil Water Advisory is in Effect as of  Thursday, December 2, 2021 - Noon
Due to a loss of pressure in the water distribution system:
A Boil Water Advisory will be in effect until further notice. Please note that all water used for human consumption must be brought to a rolling boil for one (1) minute.
The Municipality will carry out required testing of water in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health of the TBDHU.
Information regarding what to do during a "Boil Water Advisory" is available at the Municipal Office (825-3315) or the TBDHU at 807-625-5900
Please contact the Municipal Office for further information if required. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.

RESIDENTS NOTICE – Water Issue

RESIDENTS NOTICE - Water Pressure should be restored shortly. The township will be investigating the water issue. Residents will be under a Boil Water Advisory - updates on the advisory will be issued today.

Mark Your Calendars! The Great Northern Ontario Road Show featuring the local Christmas Artisan Market and Science North Shows on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from Noon to 4:00pm at the Michael King Hall.  FREE EVENT!
Christmas Artisan Market - Doors will open at Noon to 4pm featuring our local artisans and home based businesses! Great time to get that perfect gift for Christmas!
Science North will be there with lots of new hands-on science activities and exhibits for kids and adults of all ages to enjoy! And don’t miss the Live Science Shows happening at 12:30pm and 2:30pm!
Everyone Welcome to this FREE event!   Reminder COVID-19 Masking Protocols and Proof of Vaccination will be required at the door for everyone 12 years and older.

Terrace Bay Memorial Arena Update

The arena brine pumps have been repaired and we will begin making ice today!  Huge thank you to AV Terrace Bay for repairing our pump, the Adey Brothers Contracting for installation, as well as staff and council for their tireless efforts ensuring all available options were exhausted and not giving up.
We hope to have the arena available for regular use the third week of December and will update the community as we get closer to opening.

On Monday November 15 & Tuesday November 16 - Cartier Drive from the MacDonald Ave Intersection to the Kenogami Road Intersection will be closed ALL DAY.  Please avoid this area and use alternate routes.

Curling Registration 2021/22 Season

CURLING REGISTRATION!
For anyone who missed the curling registration night please visit our website to sign up.  Juniors, Ladies & Mixed Leagues offered this year!

VOTING IS NOW OPEN for the Terrace Bay Beach "Name the Fish" Contest! Our fish donation box needs a name for the plaque that will be installed on it!

In 2020 Council and Administration undertook a strategic planning exercise which culminated in the 2020 – 2023 Community Strategic Plan which can be found here: Terrace Bay Strategic Plan 2020-2023

The 2020-2023 Community Strategic Plan identifies 5 strategic directions within the plan as:

- Community Growth – People and Assets
- Community Beautification and Environment
- Terrace Bay as a Destination
