Council Meeting – November 1, 2021

Landfill Site Winter Hours in Effect as of October 16, 2021

Reminder: Terrace Bay Landfill Site is now on Winter Hours!  Effective October 16, 2021 to May 3, 2022.
Open Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm

Terrace Bay Beach “Name the Fish” Contest

Terrace Bay Beach "Name the Fish" Contest!  Our fish donation box needs a name for the plaque that will be installed on it!  Please submit your name idea by email to: recreation@terracebay.ca   Don't forget to include your name & phone number with your name idea!  Winning submission will receive a Terrace Bay Hoodie!  Deadline to submit is November 1, 2021

ON-SITE FOOD WASTE DIVERSION PILOT PROGRAM 2021

Join the Township of Terrace Bay in tackling food waste by piloting FoodCycler™ technology in your home!

The purpose of the FoodCycler™ Pilot Program is to measure the viability of on-site food waste processing technology as a method of waste diversion. By reducing food waste at home, you can support your municipality in their environmental goals, reduce your household's carbon footprint and extend the life of your community's local landfill.

PROJECT TIMELINE: 12 WEEKS

Purchase your unit and filters at the municipal office:
• Unit price: $169.50
• Replacement filters: $25.00
(all prices include HST)
Divert your food waste using the FoodCycler™ for a period of 12 weeks. Track the amount of waste you divert with a tracking sheet (to be provided to you by the municipality).

 

 

Fill out a closing survey (to be provided by the municipality) about your experience using the FoodCycler™. Once complete, the FoodCycler™ is yours to keep!
Replacement filters available to purchase through your municipality & www.vitamix.com.

HOW DO I RESERVE MY SPOT?

There are only 36 spots available! It was decided that a draw will be used to randomly assign the spots. To enter the draw for your chance to participate in the on-site food waste diversion pilot program just fill out and the registration form! Must be a Terrace Bay resident.

Boat & Kayak Docks Removal for the Season

The Boat and Kayak Docks at the Terrace Bay Beach will be removed for the season on Wednesday, October 6th.

Residents Notice – Hydrant Flushing & Valve Exercising

The Ontario Clean Water Agency will be conducting Hydrant Flushing and Valve Exercising with the Municipal Drinking Water System from September 29 to October 5, 2021 . Residents may experience discoloured water during this maintenance activity. If this happens, residents are to run their water taps until clear. The Municipality apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. If you require more information contact the Municipal Office at 825-3315.

Rail Safety Week
