Residents Notice – Hays Lake Dam Outflow Increase

Please be advised that the water flows out of Hays Lake Dam will be increasing from 0 to 67cms today, July 8, 2020.  Residents are advised to exercise caution  if you are around the Aguasabon River or Terrace Bay Beach area of the increased water flow.  Please stay away from any ice!  Stay Clear!  Stay Safe!

Residents Notice – Construction Project Locations

Reminder - The Municipality of Terrace Bay wishes to advise residents that as of June 15, 2020, Construction Activities commenced in the following areas:

  • Selkirk Avenue - sidewalk replacement
  • Kenogami Rd/Beach Rd Intersection - upgrade
  • Beach Rd/Terrace Bay Beach - Waterfront Development Project

Construction Activities in these areas will be ongoing throughout the Summer and Fall.  To ensure public safety as well as the safety of the workers, residents are asked to exercise caution while in these areas and obey all signs and safety barriers.  For more information call the Municipal Office at 825-3315.

Municipal Office Re-Opening with COVID-19 Restrictions

The Terrace Bay Municipal Office will be Re-Opening to the Public starting Saturday, June 6 with the following COVID-19 Restrictions:

HOURS OF OPERATION:
Monday to Friday – 10:00am to 9:30pm
Saturday – 10:00am to 4:00pm

Notice of Hydrant Flushing & Valve Exercising – June 1 to 15

The Ontario Clean Water Agency will be conducting Hydrant Flushing and Valve Exercising with the Municipal Drinking Water System from June 1 to 15, 2020.  Residents may experience discoloured water during this maintenance activity.  If this happens, residents are to run their water taps until clear.  If you require more information contact the Municipal Office at 825-3315.

THE SUMMER REGULAR LANDFILL SCHEDULE WILL BEGIN ON JUNE 6, 2020:
Saturday June 6 - Open from 2:00pm to 6:00pm

Landfill Card & Garbage Tag Purchases
The Terrace Bay Municipal Office will be open for Garbage Tags and Landfill Card Purchases only starting at 10:00am on Thursday June 4 and Friday, June 5.

Fire Ban Lifted as of 12:01am , May 30, 2020

As of 12:01 a.m. on May 30, 2020, The MNR is lifting the Restricted Fire Ban. Under the authority of the Fire Chief, the Township of Terrace Bay is going to temporarily allow open – air burning in outdoor fire containers only. Please Note that all Residents are required to have a Fire Permit.

Water Bills Due May 29, 2020

Notice to Rate Payers:  Please be informed that the payment of water bills is due on Friday, May 29, 2020.  Payments can be made by calling the office with credit card, online banking or mailing in a cheque.  Should you have any issues with the payment during these trying times, please contact the Municipal Office at 825-3315 Ext. 227 or email the treasurer@terracebay.ca to discuss other payment options.
