Municipal Office Hours – Phone Calls Only

The Terrace Bay Municipal Office will be OPEN for phone calls only.  Hours of Operation:  Monday to Friday - 9am to Noon and 1pm to 4pm.  If you have questions or would like to pay a bill over the phone, feel free to contact us at 825-3315

LANDFILL Open Limited Hours

Effective March 19, 2020 the Landfill has re-opened for ‘necessary/urgent’ disposal of goods for businesses & residents.

LANDFILL HOURS
SATURDAYS – 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
WEDNESDAYS – 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Please be courteous, be safe, and stay home as much as possible.

Public Notice - COVID-19 Pandemic.  As encouraged by the North of Superior Healthcare Group (NOSH Group) Incident Management Committee.  In Conjunction with Costa’s Foods and Stewart Pharmacy, the 1st hour of the business day will be dedicated for “SENIORS HOUR” (60 years +)

Costa’s Foodmarket - Monday to Friday: 9:00am to 10:00am & Saturday: 8.30am to 9.30am

Stewart Pharmacy - Monday to Saturday: 9:00am to 10:00am

The Township of Terrace Bay remains diligent in monitoring the rapidly changing situation related to COVID-19. Mayor and Staff continue to maintain communications with local Health Care Professionals and continue to evaluate all Public, Provincial and Federal Health Authority reports and up-to-date information. The health and well-being of our residents is of great importance and the Municipality strives to make decisions that are measured, precautionary and in the community’s best interests.

Terrace Bay Recreation Facilities & Programs CLOSED effective immediately.

The Township of Terrace Bay effective immediately has CLOSED the following facilities: Recreation Facilities & Programs - Fitness Room, Arena, Courts, Bowling Alley, Curling Club, Saunas, Library and Senior Centre as per Provincial Direction.

Due to the on-going COVID-19 circumstances, the Township of Terrace Bay’s Municipal Emergency Control Group (MECG) met March 15th at 1pm to discuss its Emergency Plan procedures for Public Health Emergencies.  Terrace Bay’s MECG group consists of the Mayor, Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk, Fire Chief, and Public Works Supervisor.

Our local North of Superior Healthcare Group (NOSH Group) has convened an Incident Management Committee (ICM) with representatives from the Hospitals in Terrace Bay and Marathon, the clinics in Schreiber, Terrace Bay and Marathon, and the Thunder Bay District Health Unit with the purpose of information sharing and proactive planning for the processes, people and supplies necessary should the virus reach our communities.

The Township of Terrace Bay strives to maintain a culture of safety and well-being in our community and are working closely with our public health partners to ensure the safety of all. Our Mayor and Management Staff will be participating in the Incident Management Committee’s first meeting this upcoming week.  Read More

Notice to Ratepayers

Tax and Water Past Due Accounts:  Letters from the Township will be mailed out in the near future with regards to Water and Tax Accounts. Water accounts in arrears in excess of 60+ days are subject to disconnection and Tax accounts in arrears in excess of 2+ years are subject to the Tax Sale Process.

The Township encourages immediate attention to accounts in arrears through payment or contacting the Town to make payment arrangements.
