Photography Contest

The Township of Terrace Bay is excited to announce a Photography Contest!  We are looking for Scenic, Nature, Outdoor Adventure & Fan Favourite Photo’s!

CATEGORIES

• Scenic – beauty shots of landscapes, shorelines, lighthouses, etc.
• Nature – wildlife, birds, and/or trees
• Outdoor Adventure – capture the fun of an outdoor activity.
• Fan Favourite

PRIZES

• Winners of each category will be awarded a Township of Terrace Bay Hoodie
• Runner-up in each category will be awarded a Township of Terrace Bay T-Shirt
• Winning photos to be displayed on the Township of Terrace Bay website Banner
• All appropriate photos will be available for public viewing on the Township of Terrace Bay website and Facebook Page

ENTRY
Entries are to be submitted electronically through any of the following contest entry channels:

DEADLINE
All entries uploaded through the various contest entry channels outlined above and must be received prior to 5:00pm –  March 31, 2022.

JUDGING
The winners will be selected by a panel of judges in Terrace Bay. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to disqualify or discount any entrant, image or vote connected to votes cast by unfair means. Winners will be notified by April 8, 2022. Decision of the judges is final.

ENTRIES AND IDENTIFICATION
Photographs entered must not have been previously published. Individuals can only win once per category but may win in multiple categories. Entrants must own all rights to the photographs submitted. As such, entrants hold The Township of Terrace Bay harmless from any breach of copyright. Photographs that have won any other contests or have been published in a magazine or newspaper (except online) are not eligible. Photographs that violate or infringe upon another person’s copyright are not eligible. For a photo in which a person is recognizable, a model release is required, model releases are the responsibility of the entrant and are assumed with all entries. Photographs must have been shot within the past 15 months (after January 1, 2021). Entries must be submitted online via contest entry channels as outlined above. Judges reserve the right to place the entry in the appropriate category. The Township of Terrace Bay holds the right to disqualify entries with inappropriate content.

FORMAT
Entries are to be digital photographs and submitted electronically. Content alteration of digital files is not acceptable, including combining multiple photos. Cropping of photos is permitted, tonal or colour corrections are acceptable. Borders, frames, text, or other graphic treatments are not permitted. Finalists will be asked to submit a high-resolution file suitable for print reproduction. Township of Terrace Bay judges reserve the right to disqualify contestants who are unable to submit, upon request, a high-resolution photograph of at least 300 dpi at 8 x 12 inches (2400 x 3600 pixels).

COPYRIGHT NOTICE
With regard to any photograph submitted to this contest, the entrant, or the owner of copyright in the photograph, retains copyright. By uploading or submitting any photograph to this contest, the entrant grants (or warrant that the owner of such materials expressly grants) The Township of Terrace Bay a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any Township of Terrace Bay purpose, including, but not limited to advertising and promotional materials, its website, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to Township of Terrace Bay publications. Township of Terrace Bay will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
