Hydrant Flushing June 5 to 9, 2023

Residents Notice - Hydrant Flushing
The Ontario Clean Water Agency will be conducting Hydrant Flushing with the Municipal Drinking Water System from June 5 to 9, 2023 . Residents may experience discoloured water during this maintenance activity. If this happens, residents are to run their water taps until clear. The Municipality apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. If you require more information contact the Municipal Office at 825-3315.

Our communities have spent a hundred years fundraising & volunteering to support our local public hospitals & build services closer to home.
Now the Ford Government is planning to take thousands of surgeries & diagnostic tests out of our local public hospitals and privatize them to for-profit hospitals & clinics....unless we stop them.

Residents Notice – New Office Hours

Please be advised that effective June 1, 2023 we will be adjusting the office hours as follows:

Administration Office Hours

Monday to Friday  09:00 to 16:30

Recreation Office Hours

Monday to Friday 09:00 to 21:00
Saturday 10:00 to 16:00

This allows the Township to accommodate more tax and water payments that are being made in person.

Reminder to get your 2023 Open Air Burning Permit

Terrace Bay Residents! Reminder to get your 2023 Open Air Burning Permit for your home fire pits!
We want to remind residents that you are only permitted to ignite an outdoor fire between the hours of 4:00pm and 1:00am. You must also purchase a fire permit from the Township of Terrace Bay and follow the regulations listed on the permit. Be Fire Safe!!
Permits are available at the TB Community Centre Office.  Cost: $30 each                    Open Air Bylaw and Regulations

ATTENTION: TOWNSHIP WIDE BOIL WATER ADVISORY

Effective immediately Monday May 15, 2023, 5:30 PM until further notification, the Township of Terrace Bay will be under a boil water advisory.

The Boil Water advisory will be lifted as soon as results ensuring water quality are received.

Information regarding what to do during a "Boil Water Advisory" is available at the Municipal Office (807) 825-3315 or the Thunder Bay District Health Unit at (807) 625-5900.

Swim Lesson Registrations 2023

Swim Lesson Registrations! Now being accepted for the 2023 Swim Season!! Download Registration Form
2 Sessions being offered this Summer!
Session 1: Wednesday, July 5 to Thursday, July 20
Session 2: Wednesday, August 2 to Thursday, August 17
Swim lessons will be offered in 2 morning sessions for all age groups on Monday to Thursday mornings.  Swim Lessons will be limited to a first come, first serve basis! There will be no guarantee of acceptance into the program due to pool staff shortage. We will try our best to accommodate all requests.

Residents Notice – Hays Lake Dam Increase

Please be advised that there will be an increase in flow at the Hays Lake Dam from 105cms to ~200cms either today or tomorrow (May 9 or 10, 2023). Inflows into the lake are picking up and we are expecting them to stay high during this period of warm weather. Stay Safe, Stay Clear!
