Fire Ban is lifted as of midnight, August 12, 2021

The Fire Ban has lifted as of midnight, Friday, August 13, 2021.  Residents can now purchase Fire Permits as of Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Terrace Bay Community Centre Office.

Notice of intention to dispose of a vessel under section 39 of the Wrecked, Abandoned or Hazardous Vessels Act

A WRECK – located at 48.831475°, -87.523549° in Rossport, Ontario is currently considered to be hazardous to the environment and to the public.  This notice is issued in conformity with section 39 of the Wrecked, Abandoned or Hazardous Vessels Act (WAHVA) and is official notice of the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard’s intention to dispose of this vessel after 30 days from which this notice was given.  Should you have any questions, you may contact, Canadian Coast Guard’s Vessels of Concern Program at: CCG.CA.VOC-NP.CA.GCC@dfo-mpo.gc.ca

Residents Notice – Local Water Restrictions

Residents are reminded that water restrictions are in place effective from the first day of March each year until the thirtieth day of November of the same year.   By-law 21-2006 specifies:  “No person shall use, cause or permit the use of water externally or through a hose, pipe or any other watering device or mechanism, lawns, gardens or other outside plants, grass, plots, boulevards or grounds of any description or the washing of any vehicle, trailer, boat, driveway, sidewalk, except in accordance with the following:

  1. a) premises with even street numbers on even numbered calendar days.
  2. b) premises with odd street numbers on odd numbered calendar days.
  3. c) a maximum of two (2) hours per day per household every other day, depending on street number.”

By-law Officer will monitor usage and fines will be laid as outlined in the by-law.  Fines range between $105.00 and $500.00.

Fitness Room Re-Opening – July 20, 2021 at 10:00am

RE-OPENING! The Terrace Bay Fitness Room will be re-opening on Tuesday, July 21, 2021 at 10:00am.  All memberships have been extended for the period that the fitness room was closed based on members date of expiry.

4:00PM Update July 9th 2021:

As of midnight tonight, the Ministry of Natural Resources will be implementing a restricted fire zone/fire ban for our area. All residential fire permits will be suspended at 12:00am Saturday, July 10, 2021 until further notice.
