Small Business Support Grants: COVID-19

Ontario's Main Street Relief Grant: PPE support

Will be opening this Friday January 15th

Helping small businesses with the unexpected costs of PPE.

Eligibility

To be eligible, your business must have two to nine employees and be in one of the following sectors:

  • retail
  • accommodation and food services
  • repair and maintenance
  • personal and laundry services
  • gyms and yoga studios

What you'll get

Eligible small businesses will get one-time grants of up to $1,000.

COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program

The Government of Ontario is providing $8 million to support small business and registered charity customers who are struggling to pay their energy bills as a result of the COVID-19 emergency.

The COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program for Small Business (CEAP-SB) provides a one time, on-bill credit to eligible small business and registered charity customers to help them catch up on their energy bills and resume regular payments. Small business and registered charity customers may be eligible for up to $850 in support towards their electricity bill if they primarily use electricity for heating, or up to $425 otherwise. Small business and registered charity customers could also be eligible for up to $425 in support towards their natural gas bill.

CEAP-SB is being delivered by electricity distributors, natural gas distributors and unit sub-meter providers (USMPs), in accordance with rules laid out by the OEB.

You must apply for CEAP-SB through your utility or USMP. Contact your utility or USMP directly as each may have a unique approach for application in-take.

Township of Terrace Bay Facility Closures due to extended lockdown

Effective Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., a stay-at-home order is being issued for 28 days - requiring everyone to remain at home, with exceptions for essential purposes, such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing health care services, getting exercise or for essential work.
Additional public health measures added to help stop the spread of COVID-19 include:
  • Outdoor public events and gatherings restricted to 5 people, with exceptions
  • Mandatory face covering in the indoor areas of businesses or organizations.

Terrace Bay COVID-19 Active Screening

The Township of Terrace Bay will now require all patrons entering our facilities to complete a COVID-19 active screening form.  This is mandatory as our region enters the Orange Zone.

The Township of Terrace Bay continues to monitor and adapt to the guidelines and recommendations of the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, Province of Ontario and Federal Government. Our operating guidelines may be adjusted and/or changed as required at any time.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in contract cancellation and removal from the facility. The Township of Terrace Bay reserves this right at all times.
