Residents Recreation Services Membership InformationThe Community Centre offers a variety of memberships for use of our facilities. The following types of memberships are available:

Gym Membership
- No Charge for the use of the fitness room, squash and racquetball courts, and sauna
- Users must be 13 years and older.
- Swipe Card System with 23/7 hour access to the fitness room (closed 9am to 10am daily for cleaning). Members 17 years and under will only be granted access to the fitness room during staffed regular hours of operation. These users will not be granted after hours (24/7) access to the facility. Only exception is the member will be granted access during after hours when accompanied by a gym member who is a family member aged 18 years and older and who will be responsible for the member under 17 years old.
- 1 year, 3 month, 1 month and 1 week and Summer Student Special (May 1-Aug 31) memberships available

Gym Membership Refund Policy
Membership fees are non-refundable.
Swim Pool Membership *Seasonal Pass
- No Charge for the use of the pool during public swim times
- Does not include swim lesson registration and aquabics fees
- Children 3 years old and younger – Free
The membership period is for the summer months during the swim pool season.
Public Skating & Shinney Hockey Memberships *Seasonal Pass
- No Charge for admission to public skating only
- Shinney hockey will be charged daily admission or purchase a seasonal pass
- Children 3 years old and younger – Free
The membership period is for the winter months during the arena season.
Activities and Programs
Fitness Programs / Special Interest Courses The Recreation Centre is always looking for any new ideas for special interest courses. If you are interested in instructing a course, contact the Recreation Office at 825-3315 ext.225
Refund Policy

Medical certificate for inability to pursue the activity/program.

Inability of the Township to provide program/service for stated terms.

Confirmation, in writing, that the individual(s) has been transferred or are moving out of town.

A $20 cancellation fee will be charged for all refund requests.
Concussion Policy
The Township of Terrace Bay is committed to the health and well-being of all employees and participants in sport and recreation programming. This policy will provide awareness and training on how to properly assess and manage a concussion incident, as well as how to help minimize these incidents from occurring. All recreation users/members are expected to abide by policies and procedures, implemented by the Recreation Department.
All special requests regarding recreation services and facilities should be directed to the Community Development Supervisor.

COMMUNITY CENTRE RULES
SQUASH, RACQUETBALL AND WALLYBALL COURT RULES
A. Court bookings are 45 minutes in duration.
B. Maximum of two consecutive court reservations.
C. Proper “non-marking” footwear must be worn. No street shoes are allowed.
D. Recreation Members have the privilege of reserving a court 2 days in advance. Non-members can only reserve a court on the same day.
E. Protective eyewear is mandatory for persons playing squash or racquetball.
F. All person(s) using the courts must check in and check out at the Recreation Office.
FITNESS ROOM
A. Everyone must sign in and out – NO EXCEPTIONS!
B. Weights are to be put away after use.
C. Dropping weights is prohibited.
D. Fitness Room Door is to be closed at all times.
E. No outdoor shoes are allowed.
F. Fitness Room maximum occupancy – 20
G. T-shirts must be worn when lying or sitting on benches.
H . Fitness Room Music System is located in the Community Centre Office. Volume level and music channels will be controlled by the Office Staff. Only personal headsets will be allowed. Users are not allowed to bring in their own personal devices to play out loud.
K. Recreation Members have the privilege of reserving fitness room exercise equipment 2 days in advance. Non-members can only reserve on the same day.
TENNIS COURT RULES
A. No formal court bookings required. Please limit your court time to 60 minutes, if there is a demand for the courts out of courtesy to others
B. Proper footwear is mandatory.
C. No Skateboards allowed on the Tennis Courts
RECREATION FACILITY RULES
A. These rules apply to all persons in all facilities and programs under the control of the Terrace Bay Recreation Department.
B. The use of improper, profane, obscene or abusive language is not permitted.
C. Courtesy and respect is expected to be shown to others and to property at all times.
D. Litter is to be disposed of in a proper waste receptacle.
E. Possession of illegal or unauthorized drugs is not permitted.
F. Liquor is not permitted, except under the authority of a proper licence issued by the Liquor Licence Board of Ontario.
G. All accidents involving personal injury or damage to property are to be reported to the Recreation Office or Recreation Staff immediately.
H. All damaged or mal-functioning equipment is to be reported to the Recreation Office or Recreation Staff, by completing a proper Work Order Form, located in the Recreation Office.
I. The Recreation Department will not be responsible for any lost or stolen articles.
